Savory puff pastry appetizer

Make these. They are my go-to appetizer while entertaining.

Ingredients

  • Puff pastry (thawed)

  • Brie (cut into 1 inch cubes)

  • Prosciutto (sliced into thin strips)

  • Spicy Jelly (I used Habanero Peach jelly)

  • Everything bagel spice (optional)

Preparation

  1. Thaw puff pastry until pliable

  2. Preheat oven to temperature specified on puff pastry box (I like Pepperidge Farms), usually around 400 degrees

  3. Spray a muffin tin with non-stick cooking spray

  4. Lay out your puff pastry and cut into 4 inch squares using a pizza cutter. You can use a little flour if things get too sticky.

  5. Layer the puff pastry, brie, jelly and prosciutto. You can add everything bagel spice for extra flavor.

  6. Bake for about 14 minutes.

Tips and notes

These are a game changer. They are fast and easy but look and taste gourmet. I make these for every gathering we have and they are always the first thing to be devoured.

You can also totally customize these to whatever you have on-hand, I make another version using asparagus that is killer and great as a side dish. You can also omit the prosciutto and dust with powdered sugar after baking for a sweet dessert option.
